Rachel Green |
Rachel first appears when she turns up in Central Perk in her wedding dress looking for Monica, after fleeing her wedding to orthodontist Barry Farber. She has an on/off relationship with Ross Geller, which includes a
daughter, Emma. They get married in Vegas but eventually divorced, and in the first episode of Joey it is practically confirmed that they were married after the final episode. Rachel's parents are rich and she was first
shown as a daddy's girl. Her parents are cynical of her attempt at independent life in the city. Among other pets, while growing up she owned a pony. Rachel has two sisters and appears to be the most grounded of the
Green daughters. One sister, Amy, is rude and tactless, and her other sister, Jill, is rude and vain. Rachel had a nose job while she was a teenager. At high school, she was snobby and several of her classmates hated her.
She attended college and was in the Kappa Kappa Delta. Rachel's birthday is on May 5th.

Monica Geller |
Monica is the younger sister of Ross Geller, and the two share some sibling rivalries as he often took his pranks too far, and also because she feels that her parents, particularly her mother, give Ross preferential treatment.
She was an overweight child and is often teased about this by the others, especially her brother Ross. However, during the end of her senior year and her freshman year at college, she lost the excess weight after hearing
Chandler call her fat. Monica is a neat freak (she calls the dry cleaner her Disneyland) and is very organised (she has eleven categories for her towels). Monica is also extremely competitive, for example she turns Ross and
Joey casually throwing a ball around into a challenge to try and keep the ball up. Chandler originally suggested, albeit facetiously, that Monica should become a chef, which she did. Monica and Chandler first got together in
London at the end of season four, and after dating both secretly and publicky, they were married at the end of season seven. Monica has a hostile womb, so her and Chandler adopted Erica and Jack Bing.

people behind the dumpster) and she never went to high school or college. She has many wild stories which shock her friends. Phoebe inherited her grandmother's taxi after she died, and uses it, among other things, to take
Ross to the airport to make Rachel stay. Phoebe plays the guitar and sings in Central Perk, her most famous song being Smelly Cat. Phoebe describes her music as "acoustic, folksy stuff" and other songs include "Holiday
Song", "The Grandma Song", "Sue Sue Suicide" and "Ode To A Pubic Hair". Phoebe married a gay Canadian ice dancer to help him obtain a green card, but he later asked for divorce revealing he was straight. Phoebe later
married Mike Hannigan. She is a vegetarian, but eats meat during her pregnancy after Joey agrees to abstain.

tour guide at the Museum of Natural History and offering perfume samples at a department store. Joey was a roommate with Chandler for most of the early seasons, moving out temporarily to a lavish apartment away when he
got the role on Days, and after Monica and Chandler were in a relationship he lived with Rachel (and later Emma). Joey's famous catchphrase, How You Doin', served as his pick up line. He is extremely
prominiscuous with women, sleeping with a lot of extras on his shows. He also has a tendency not to call them back.
